Golf Costa Adeje was developed with the vision of becoming the premier leisure destination in the Canary Islands.
This exceptional 18-hole, par 72 championship course, opened in 1998, has quickly become one of the most popular courses in Tenerife. It was later complemented by the addition of Los Lagos, a 9-hole, par 33 course located adjacent to the driving range.
Designed by the internationally acclaimed architect Pepe Gancedo, the course reflects his distinctive style. Gancedo's "hand-built" approach adapts the layout to the natural terrain of the former banana plantation, incorporating restored stone walls from old agricultural terraces. Players enjoy stunning views of the island of La Gomera, the Adeje mountain range, and Playa de las Américas.
The greens are generally large, with several challenging doglegs. The round begins with a long par five (510m), with bunkers strategically placed to catch errant tee shots. The second hole is short but tricky, featuring a ravine on the right and a two-tiered green that becomes particularly challenging when the flag is positioned at the back. The fourth hole gently slopes downhill toward the sea, intersected by the step-like stone walls of the former plantation.
To access the driving range and the golf school from the main course, an elevator transports players and their buggies through the natural rock.
Rising up the west face of the Teide Volcano, Abama Golf course was created by world renowned golf designer Dave Thomas. The immaculately maintained 18 hole championship course contains over 300 species of subtropical plant life, including over 20,000 palm trees. Almost all of the holes of the course have spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and the island of La Gomera.
With 22 lakes spread throughout the course´s ever changing terrain, as well as waterfalls and white sand bunkers, the course is challenging enough to test even the most experienced golfer.
