The Royal County Down Golf Club was founded in 1889. Royal County Down is located in one of the world’s most naturally beautiful links settings in the Murlough Nature Reserve. The bar and dining room offer visiting golfers the opportunity to relax in comfort after their round. A menu which includes both light snacks and more substantial meals, all freshly prepared, is available throughout the day, as is the fully licensed bar.
The story of Ardglass Golf Club and links began in 1896, the first incarnation was a 7-hole layout with a total length of less than 1000 yards and shoehorned into the area that is now the 1st and 18th fairways. Ardglass Golf Course is a course in a natural setting hugging the north-east coast of Ireland, with stunning views, unique golf holes and memorable people. The Irish Sea, which can be seen from all 18 tees and greens, comes into play on no fewer than 8 holes.
More affectionately known as ‘Baltray’, this prestigious links course is ranked among the top 5 courses to play in Ireland.
Nestled in the historic Boyne Valley on Ireland’s East Coast, the award-winning County Louth Golf Club is ideally located: just 45 minutes from Dublin Airport, less than an hour from Dublin city centre, and approximately 90 minutes from Belfast International Airport.
Founded in 1892, our club is rich in history and has earned a reputation for producing some of Ireland’s finest golfers over the years. In 1938, renowned golf architects Tom Simpson and Molly Gourlay redesigned the course. A par 72, measuring 2,141 meters from the back tees, our championship links is known for offering one of the purest and fairest tests of links golf in the world. Paul McGinley, former Ryder Cup Captain and professional golfer, has called it his favorite links course in Ireland, saying, “It’s just a great test. All the holes run in different directions, so you have a different exam paper on each hole.”
County Louth Golf Club has hosted the European Tour’s Irish Open twice, in 2004 and 2009. The latter event is particularly memorable for being the venue where Shane Lowry, a future Open Champion, won the Irish Open as an amateur.
The village of Baltray is famous for its golf course, but also offers stunning views of the Cooley and Mourne mountains to the north and a 9.7-kilometer-long beach stretching over the course's sand dunes.
Our club restaurant has become renowned for its delicious local dishes, particularly fresh seafood sourced directly from nearby Clogherhead’s fishing trawlers. In addition, we are one of the few golf clubs in Ireland to offer accommodations within the clubhouse.
At County Louth Golf Club, we look forward to welcoming you to Baltray. It is our sincere hope that you enjoy both the challenge of our links and the warmth of our hospitality.
